Birth control help?

hey im a 16 year old girl who wants to go on birth control. Its nto becsue im having bc i am still a virgin but it is to help regulate my period bc i get it once ever 3-4 month and it only last for 5 days. If i go to the doctor are they going to check me out down there?? i no thats weird but i was jsut curious..
