Wedding guests you never hear from again?

I was curious how common it is to not hear from your wedding guests again (presuming you thanked them for coming and all)? You've attempted to stay in touch, but they didn't. Or alternatively, if you've attended a friend/family member's wedding but they/you never stayed in touch.
