Why is teaching a profession so looked down upon?

Its simple, its not hard to get into a teaching course. try a doctor or scientist, its much harder. There's more work. While its true, there are bad doctors and lawyers. That's only some. It takes years of hard work and dedication to become successful in those professions. I'm not saying teachers are not important. Teachers are very important. they start the lives of everyone. However due to the ease of getting into a teaching course as oppose to becoming a vet, doctor or scientist. Its kinda seen a a fall back profession. It sucks that it is that way, I see teaching as a very noble profession.
