My mother-in-law did something annoying. What does it mean?

I am very flustered. I am newly married. One morning my husband got a hail of missed calls from his mother. He called her back then he went to his computer to check his email. He came over to me and told me his mother emailed him pictures of me. I was confused and when I asked what pictures it turned out they were pictures I texted him a while back before we got married or even lived together and they are very personal and of a ual nature. I had told him to make sure no one else sees them and he told me he deleted them a long time ago. He says she claims she found them on her computer through a picture editing program, and he claims the program dug up those pictures from the hard drive that was taken from his computer and installed into hers for some reason, and that he is very certain he deleted those pictures and has no idea how she still found them. He also insisted that his mother is computer illiterate. I did not talk to her ever since because of the awkwardness I felt but mostly because I am angry about the way she reacted to finding those pictures. I'm still very angry about it. Does anyone know what is the meaning of her emailing the pictures to my husband and calling him so much to tell him about it? She didn't give a clear answer when asked about why she did it.
